Q.
What should be criteria for purchasing packing strap, should it be on kg basis or length basis ?
A.
Normally strap is available on kg. basis, however strap width, thickness and length should not be ignored, as more thick strap yield less length, and strap with less thickness gives more length.


Q.
Of which width & thickness of strap should we used?
A.
Most practical way is to start trial with low width & low thickness strap and the level at which you get the required result, is the right width & thickness of strap for you.


Q.
How can we check the length of strap that we are using?
A.

Its not so difficult, just take 10 mtr. Strap and check its weight on digital weighing scale and compare the result with standard specification.

Example: Standard weight of 12mm strap (0.4mm thickness) is 30 grams per 10 mtr. Now, if the weight of same size & thickness comes to 36 grams, it means 20% length is less and actual cost is 20% higher.

What should be the weight of 10 mtr. Strap of different sizes?
A. Standard weight of 10 Mtr. Strap for some of the sizes are as under -
